Inter captain Javier Zanetti believes that one of the main strengths of his club is their humbleness when it comes to dealing with success.

The Nerazzurri claimed second spot in Serie A by beating Scudetto rivals Napoli 2-1 on Sunday, but the 39-year-old is adamant that modesty will be key to triumphing this term.

“You can go a long way with humility,” the Argentine told Inter Channel.

“In our case it’s in the club’s DNA, from the president all the way down to each of us.

“Now we must try to be more consistent, especially in the games that look easier on paper. We’re on the up again, we must keep going as we are.”

The midfielder then reflected on the win against Napoli, which lifted them only four points behind title holders Juventus.

“The most important thing is the way we managed to beat a tough team that runs like clockwork, we won because we showed humility and put in the hard work,” he said.

“It’s a win that proves we’re a strong side, but we know we still have a lot to keep working on.”

Inter are currently preparing for their trip to Rome to face Lazio on Saturday.
