Zenit sign new full-back

Zenit have reinforced their squad with Lokomotiv Moscow defender Renat Yanbayev, the Sky Blues have announced on their official website.

The player was signed on season-long loan on the transfer deadline day in Russia.

The experienced defender was added to the squad just few days after the club produced a major coup by signing Hulk from Porto and Axel Witsel from Benfica.

Renat Yanbayev came through the youth ranks at CSKA Moscow, but left the Army Men for Khimki without playing a single game for the club.

The full-back also played for Kuban before joining Lokomotiv Moscow in the summer of 2007.

Yanbayev immediately established himself as a first team regular in his new club, with solid showings at club level helping him earn 11 Russia caps.

The 28-year-old arrives at Petrovsky Stadium as a cover for the starting left-back Domenico Criscito.
