Ajax narrowed the gap on Eredivisie leaders Twente to one point after beating Feyenoord 3-0 on Sunday.

Two goals from Viktor Fischer secured the win for third-placed Ajax, who moved equal on points with second-placed PSV Eindhoven.

Danish forward Fischer opened the scoring in the seventh minute before doubling the home side’s advantage just before the interval.

Another Dane, Christian Eriksen, added a third for Ajax, who had defender Ricardo van Rhijn dismissed for a second bookable offence in the second half.

Meanwhile, Hans Mulder’s 79th-minute equaliser handed bottom-placed Willem II a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw with ADO Den Haag.

Goals from Alexander Gerndt and Mike van der Hoorn guided Utrecht to a 2-0 win at Groningen, who slipped to 12th on the table with their second consecutive loss.

Finally, Roda JC climbed out of the relegation zone with their second straight victory after prevailing 2-0 over NEC Nijmegen.
