Il Corriere dello Sport is reporting that AS Roma are considering a summer move for Bayern Munich defender Mehdi Benatia.
The Giallorossi did well to sign the likes of Stephan El Shaarawy, Ervin Zukanovic and Diego Perotti this winter, and they plan to continue the recruitment process at the end of the season.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, former player Mehdi Benatia has emerged as their primary target.
The Moroccan has struggled for playing time at Bayern Munich and it is believed he would consider returning to Italian Serie A.
AS Roma face stiff competition for the defender’s signature, with Juventus and AC Milan also keen on his services.
It was at Stadio Olimpico that Benatia made a name for himself, putting in some excellent defensive showings while also scoring 5 goals in 33 Serie A appearances.
AS Roma recently revived their Champions League hopes and can now be backed at 7/2 to achieve a top 3 finish.
