Atletico Madrid are ready to step up the chase for Sporting striker Islam Silmani in attempt to beat the host of Premier League clubs to the signing of Algeria international.
The 27-year-old forward has been in scintillating form this season, having already scored 20 goals for Sporting in 25 league games, including a brace at Estoril last Sunday which helped his team go top of the Liga Sagres.
The Algeria international has attracted a lot of interest from the Premier League clubs such as Manchester United, Tottenham and Everton, who are all keeping tabs of the talented striker.
However, Portuguese publication Record has revealed that Atletico Madrid are willing to beat the English clubs to Silmani’s signature.
Having sold Jackson Martinez during the January transfer window, Rojiblancos are keen on adding more firepower to their attack line and Sporting forward has reportedly been identified as the main target for the summer transfer window.
Silmani is contracted to the Portugal outfit until 2020.
