English media outlet Sky Sports has learned that Atletico Madrid are hot on the trail of Chelsea striker Diego Costa.
The Spaniard is believed to be looking for a way out of Stamford Bridge, and he is forced to explore other avenues after his proposed move to China fell through.
According to Sky Sports, former club Atletico Madrid are determined to bring the 28-year-old back to Vicente Calderon.
Los Colchoneros had initially agreed a deal for Alexandre Lacazette, but the transfer failed to materialise due to their transfer ban.
The Frenchman has since joined Arsenal, while Atletico turned their attention towards Diego Costa.
Los Colchoneros plan to sign the Spaniard this summer and then loan him out for six months before they add him to their squad in January.
