Spanish giants Barcelona are hot on the trail of Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka, according to El Mundo Deportivo.

The highly rated footballer will be out of contract in the summer and he has reportedly decided to leave the Miners for greener pastures.

The likes of Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are all believed to be keen on his services, while Barcelona have now joined the chase as well.

According to El Mundo Deportivo, the Catalans hope to recruit Goretzka in the January transfer window, and they plan to offer between €10m and €15m for his services.

Leon Goretzka, 22, joined Schalke four years ago from Bochum and he has since featured in 95 Bundesliga games, 11 goals.

The attacking midfielder was in excellent form at the 2017 Confederations Cup, bagging 3 goals in 4 appearances.
