FIFA president Sepp Blatter believes other leagues should follow the Bundesliga’s example.

Germany’s top flight has long been praised for its affordable ticket pricing structure and enjoyable fan experience.

On top of that, the league’s top two last season, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, made the 2013 UEFA Champions League final with five of the clubs’ stars nominated for the 2013 UEFA Best Player in Europe Award.

As a result, Blatter feels the Bundesliga should be treated as an example by other countries.

“The clubs are absolutely healthy in terms of finances and there are many big players in the teams, while they are also successful in Europe,” he told the Tz newspaper.

“Generally, the Bundesliga is a role model for other leagues. The way the league is run and how the clubs are controlled – I just have to say hats off to them.”

Blatter reserved special praise for Bayern, who won the Champions League, the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal last season.

“What Bayern achieved last year was simply amazing,” he added.

“It was not only successful football, but it was above all technically beautiful football.”
