West Ham to hold Amorim talks, Lopetegui linked too

West Ham are the latest club mentioned in relation to Sporting Lisbon head coach Ruben Amorim. According to The Athletic, they are set to hold talks with the 39-year-old tactician to learn if he would be willing to make the switch to the London Stadium, while they consider whether to extend the contract of David Moyes which expires at the end of the season.

However, the Hammers could face strong competition from the likes of Liverpool and Barcelona. Bayern Munich should not be ruled out for the time being either. At this point, it remains unclear where exactly West Ham would be on the list of options for Amorim.

Recent reports stated that Amorim had already reached a verbal agreement with Liverpool to succeed Jurgen Klopp, but he quickly dismissed such claims, insisting he remains focused on Sporting only.

Meanwhile, reports elsewhere say former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Julen Lopetegui is a strong candidate to replace Moyes at West Ham.
