Bruno Mineiro struck a hat-trick as Portuguesa thumped Sport Recife 5-1 in the Brazilian Serie A on Thursday.
The victors had to come from behind after Hugo fired Recife into a 16th-minute lead.
Mineiro opened his account on 25 minutes to level proceedings heading into the half-time break, before Portuguesa ran riot in the second half.
Mineiro got his second just three minutes after the break and bagged his treble with 23 minutes remaining.
Moises and substitute Rodriguinho got in on the act, scoring in the final 10 minutes to give the hosts a comfortable victory.
The win saw Portuguesa move into the top half of the table.
In other matches, Deivid’s goal was the difference as Coritiba beat fellow strugglers Ponte Preta 1-0 while Flamengo and Bahia played out a goalless draw.
