Costa linked with Atletico Madrid return

Atletico Madrid are considering a summer move to re-sign Diego Costa from Chelsea, according to the Mail Online.

The La Liga side have the funds to go in for the striker after selling Jackson Martinez to for £32m earlier this week.

Costa swapped the Vicente Calderon Stadium for Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2014 and has since scored thirty-one goals for the Blues in all competitions, with his twenty in league helping fire his side to the title last season.

He was also a key part of the Atleti squad that won the championship in 2014, netting twenty-seven league goals – a tally only beaten by Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

The news comes days after it was revealed that Costa’s teammate Radamel Falcao saw his potential return to Madrid fall through.

Chelsea play Manchester United on Sunday afternoon, and Costa is priced at 9/2 to open the scoring.
