Daryl Janmaat on Juventus radar

Italian champions Juventus are considering a summer move for Newcastle United defender Daryl Janmaat, Tuttosport can reveal.

It is no secret that the Bianconeri are searching for a right-sided defender and they have now rekindled their interest in long-term target Daryl Janmaat.

Juventus believe he has what it takes to challenge Stephan Lichtsteiner for a starting berth, especially since he can successfully operate in a 4-3-1-2 and 3-5-2 formations that Max Allegri plans to use next season.

Daryl Janmaat has asked to be transferred after Newcastle United had been relegated to the Championship and chances are he will be available on a cut-price deal in the summer transfer window.

The Netherlands international has fared pretty well since joining the Magpies from Feyenoord two years ago, scoring 3 goals and producing 10 assists in 69 Premier League appearances, but he couldn’t help the club avoid relegation to the second division.
