Del Horno sidelined for three weeks

Spanish side Valencia CF will have to do without defender Asier del Horno for the next three weeks.

Del Horno pulled a ligament in his right knee on Monday and needs those three weeks to fully recover. This was announced on the club’s official website.

The Basque, who used to play for Athletic de Bilbao and English giants Chelsea, joined Valencia in 2006. So far, the cooperation hasn’t been much of a success.

Since moving to Mestalla, he made only eight appearances for ‘los Ches’. In the 2007-08 season, he spent a while on loan at his old side Athletic.
