Arsenal striker Eduardo will miss the Gunners’ Premier League match against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, manager Arsene Wenger has announced.
The 25-year-old sustained the injury in the first half of extra-time during Arsenal’s tense Champions League win away to Roma on Wednesday and he went on to miss his penalty in the shoot-out that sent the London club through to the quarter-finals.
Eduardo was out of action for 11 months after breaking his leg last season, and has now suffered two minor knocks since his February 16 return. However, he is expected to be back in action in the near future.
“Unfortunately we have lost Eduardo with a groin problem,” Wenger told Arsenal TV online on Thursday.
“He got it in the first-half of extra-time and I wonder if that stopped him from taking his penalty that well.
“It shows you that no matter what you do in training when you go to the uncontrolled movements of top, top level competition your body needs time to adjust. It is only a short-term injury but he is out for Saturday.”

Da silva should have been substited before the end of the match because he made no contribution due to the injury he sustained.
