Fernando Gago set for Boca return; Monaco bid for Rui Patricio

hot-transfer-newsFernando Gago set for Boca return

Boca Juniors are set to produce a major coup having agreed to sign Valencia midfielder Fernando Gago.

The Argentina international has long ago expressed his desire to return to La Bombonera, but his current employers were reluctant to let him leave Mestalla.

However, los Che seem to have finally decided to grant the player’s wish and they are prepared to accept a €1.7 million offer for half of the midfielder’s rights.

“Gago is no longer a Valencia player. Therefore we will not talk about him anymore,” Valencia sporting director Damia Vidagany told Argentine news agency Telam.

“Boca made a 1.7 million euro bid for 50 percent of the transfer, and we accept that. All we need is the offer on paper.”

It was at Boca Juniors that Gago started his career, spending 17 years at La Bombonera before joining Real Madrid.

Four and a half seasons into his career at Santiago Bernabeu, the Argentina international was sold to Valencia, but having failed to prove his worth at Mestalla he is set to return to Buenos Aires.

Monaco bid for Rui Patricio

French newspaper L’Equipe has learned that Monaco have made an official bid for Sporting Lisbon goalkeeper Rui Patricio.

According to the same source, the French giants have offered €10 million for the highly rated keeper, hoping to take advantage of the Lions’ dismal financial situation.

Monaco boss Claudio Ranieri is far from satisfied with current first choice keeper Danijel Subasic and is eager to sign a new goalkeeper as soon as possible.

Sporting Lisbon chiefs are not too keen on selling their prized asset, but it is believed they would not be able to resist a big money offer from France.

Rui Patricio has spent his entire career at Estadio Jose Alvalde and he may feel this is the right time for a change of scenery.

Arsenal have also been keeping close tabs on the Portugal number one, but their interest in the player seems to have cooled off of late.

Twente join chase for Assaidi

Voetbal International understands that Twente are the latest club to have joined the race for Liverpool winger Oussama Assaidi.

With the player having failed to prove his worth at Anfield, he is likely to be farmed out on loan this summer, with Eredivisie return likely.

After Feyenoord boss Ronald Koeman admitted his interest in the tricky winger, Twente also appear to be keen.

The Tukkers are looking for a new winger following the sale of Nacer Chadli to Tottenham and they have made the Moroccan their number one target.

Prior to joining Liverpool last summer, the 24-year-old had largely impressed playing for Heerenveen, scoring 20 goals in 79 Eredivisie matches.

He has, however, failed to adapt to the new surroundings after arriving at Anfield, and has only made four substitute appearances in the Premier League.

What is up with Monaco going after every Portugese player? First Moutinho, than Carvalho, now they are going after Nani and Patricio?
