Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti vowed that his team will be playing to win when they tackle Juventus in the ‘derby of Italy’ in Turin on Saturday.

Leaders Inter hold a 10-point advantage over second-placed Juventus with only seven matches left to play, meaning that the reigning champions could even lose the match but still hold enough of a lead to comfortably reclaim the Serie A crown.

But Moratti doesn’t want to risk complacency, even if coach Jose Mourinho has previously stated that a point would suffice from the match.

“On Saturday we have to go to Turin to win because it’s the right thing to do in such a prestigious match and because when you play for a draw things don’t go well,” said Moratti.

“Of course we can’t be hypocrites, right now we can feel the possibility of winning the scudetto.

“We need to be fired up otherwise we won’t have the right attitude for the game.”

Meanwhile, Moratti admitted that the club could agree to terminate troubled striker Adriano’s contract when they meet with the Brazilian’s agent Gilmar Rinaldi this week.

“Maybe yes, the termination of his contract is a possible solution,” he said.

“We can’t deny someone the freedom to do as they please in their life.”
