Klopp delight at ´six of the best´

Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp was full of praise for his side after they humbled Greuther Furth 6-1 in the Bundesliga.

Despite acknowledging that taking on the division’s bottom club could have represented a challenge for his charges, Klopp was thrilled with their incisive attacking play which saw them rack up an unassailable lead at half-time.

“It could’ve been thorny but it wasn’t, because from the outset, we were focused on making art,” Klopp told a post-match press conference.

“It was an outstanding first half and being strong on the counter and pressing for almost (the entire 45 minutes) was the key.

“We played great and deservedly led at the break. I was impressed with our style of play and we will crack the 60-point mark against Mainz on Saturday.”

Looking ahead to the Champions League semi-final with Real Madrid, Klopp believes Jose Mourinho, who watched Saturday’s thrashing, will have been given plenty to ponder for his side’s visit to Signal Iduna Park.

“Jose Mourinho would not necessarily have needed to come in person to see that Mario Gotze can also play on the left,” Klopp said.

“He’ll have seen us at 5-0 and not witnessed any of our weaknesses.”
