Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp said he cannot explain their poor Champions League form, ahead of Tuesday’s clash with Olympiakos.

The Bundesliga club are still looking for their first win in Group F, having followed up a draw against Arsenal with disappointing defeats at the hands of Marseille, and their Greek opponents.

Klopp’s men are set to lock horns once more with Olympiakos at Signal Iduna Park, and the 44-year-old has urged his players to prove that they belong in the competition.

“I still do not understand why we haven’t reached the same level in the Champions League as we have in the Bundesliga,” Klopp told Bild.

“Against Olympiakos, we must prove that we can compete in Europe and that can only come with a win.”

“I feel the team are burning with desire to prove themselves in front of their critics. Now we must finally realise what we can do.”

Despite Dortmund’s indifferent form in Europe, the German champions sit in third place in the Bundesliga, five points behind leaders Bayern Munich.
