Liverpool eyeing Forest’s Darlow

Liverpool are interested in signing goalkeeper Karl Darlow from Championship promotion hopefuls Nottingham Forest, according to the Mirror.

Brendan Rodgers is keen on bringing in competition for Belgium international Simon Mignolet, who has conceded five goals in his last two games – the Reds’ 5-3 win over Stoke City eight days ago and Saturday afternoon’s 2-2 draw with Aston Villa.

Darlow, who has caught the eye with ten clean sheets in all competitions so far this season, was watched by Liverpool scouts in Forest’s 4-1 win over Blackburn Rovers at the weekend.

The 23 year old, who has previously enjoyed loan spells with Newport County and Walsall, is set to make his fiftieth appearance for the East Midlanders in Friday evening’s FA Cup fourth round tie against League One side Preston North End at the City Ground.

Billy Davies’ side can be backed at a price of 4/6 to book their place in the fifth round with victory.
