Luiz Gustavo agrees Marseille switch

French daily newspaper L’Equipe has suggested that Marseille are set to sign Brazilian midfielder Luiz Gustavo from Wolfsburg.

L’OM were looking for a high-profile midfielder to compensate for the departure of William Vainqueur, and they seem to be close to getting their man.

Namely, L’Equipe claims that Marseille had an €8 million proposal accepted by Wolfsburg, while the Brazilian will be made the highest paid footballer in the history of the French giants.

Considering that he is currently earning €6 million per season in Germany, his new salary is likely to be very similar.

Having performed admirably at Hoffenheim, Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg, Luiz Gustavo’s quality and experience should prove a genuine asset at Stade Velodrome.
