Matic on Manchester United radar; Schalke in ambitious bid for Casillas

hot-transfer-newsMatic on Manchester United radar

Portuguese daily newspaper Record has suggested that Manchester United are keeping close tabs on Benfica hotshot Nemanja Matic.

The Serbian midfielder has already caught the eye of Chelsea, Napoli and Real Madrid, and he is likely to become one of the most sought-after players in the January transfer window.

According to Record, Manchester United have also joined the chase and they are hoping to sign the Serbia international at the earliest opportunity.

The same source has revealed that the Red Devils have established initial contacts with the player’s current employers.

With summer signing Marouane Fellaini struggling to make an impact at Old Trafford, David Moyes is determined to sign a high-profile midfielder in January and he seems to have made Matic his primary target.

Manchester United will have a perfect chance to close the eight-point gap behind leaders Arsenal when they face them on Sunday, with Red Devils 27/20 to emerge victorious.

Schalke in ambitious bid for Casillas

Bundesliga side Schalke are considering a January bid for Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas, reports Sport Bild.

The Miners have been unhappy with performances of first choice keeper Timo Hildebrand and with his contract due to expire at the end of the current campaign, they are in the market for a new number one.

And while Kevin Trapp and Fabian Giefer remain on their hit-list, Schalke are being linked with a January move for Real Madrid star Iker Casillas.

With the Spain international seeing very little action at Santiago Bernabeu, the Miners will attempt to sign the 32-year-old on a six-month loan in January.

Seeing as how regular first team football would improve Casillas’ chances of holding on to the starting place in the national team, the goalkeeper could be interested in such an arrangement.

Iker Casillas has failed to make a single La Liga appearance this term, but he has largely impressed in four Champions League matches.

Arsenal and PSG battle for Fabinho

Daily Mail has revealed that Arsenal are showing interest in Real Madrid defender Fabinho.

The 20-year-old is currently on loan at Monaco and he has done surprisingly well at the start of his career at Stade Louis II.

This has alerted quite a few top European clubs, meaning los Blancos now face a real battle to keep hold of their talented defender.

According to Le 10 Sport, Paris Saint-Germain are keeping close tabs on Fabinho, whereas the Daily Mail understands that Arsenal are also keen.

The Gunners see the Brazilian as a good long-term replacement for Bacary Sagna, whose long-term future at the Emirates remains in doubt.

After making 30 appearances for Real Madrid Castilla last term, Fabinho has featured in 11 Ligue 1 matches for Monaco this season.
