Blaise Matuidi says he and his team-mates want to ‘put on a show’ when they take on Lyon on Sunday.
A hat-trick from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and a solitary goal from Ezequiel Lavezzi saw Paris Saint-Germain beat Valenciennes 4-0 on Tuesday to continue their recent run of form and Matuidi admits confidence could not be higher.
“We’ve become aware of a lot of things lately and that has really helped our confidence,” Matuidi told Canal+.
“Everyone’s making an effort and the results are following on. Tonight, we won in style against an in-form opponent, and we need to keep up the good work.
“We’ll do our best to deliver the same kind of performance on Sunday against Lyon at the Parc des Princes. We really want to put on a show for our fans in that match.”
Defender Mamadou Sakho had a quiet evening after replacing the injured Alex on 45 minutes but he believes his side are beginning to hit their very best form after another dominant display.
“I’m really very happy to have made an appearance tonight,” he told beIN SPORT.
“Paris Saint-Germain are getting more powerful all the time, playing better and better and winning matches.
“Tonight we scored four goals without conceding, which is very satisfying indeed.”
