Real Sociedad coach Philippe Montanier is not worried about other results ahead of his side’s clash with Deportivo La Coruna on Saturday.

If Valencia lose or draw away at Sevilla, and Sociedad win, then the Basque side will sneak into the Champions League qualifying spot at Valencia’s expense.

Montanier knows their opponents are fighting for lives, with Deportivo sitting just one point above the relegation zone, and expects a tough encounter.

“We know it will be a difficult match because Deportivo will be fighting to avoid being relegated,” Montanier said.

“But we will keep a clear head, we need to win. And we don’t have to think about what will happen to Valencia, because we cannot change what happens in that match.

“All we have to do is win. The team is playing with confidence, the results of the last matches have been good.

“We feel confident. We are aware that it will be a tough match but this team can do anything.”

The match will be the 48-year-old’s final game in charge at Sociedad as the Frenchman has already agreed to take over at Ligue 1 outfit Stade Rennes next season.
