Orlando Pirates will try to end Bloemfontein Celtic’s unbeaten home run in the league on Sunday.

The Bucs, who are sixth in the table with 21 points, meet 10th-placed Celtic at the Free State Stadium in an encounter that will once again test the ability of the Julio Leal-coached side to mount a strong defence of their league crown.

Pirates, who recently beat SuperSport United 3-0 to become the first team to grab all points from the league leaders this season, will have a mountain to climb against a Celtic side that is well known for rising to the occasion when playing in front of their home fans.

Speaking to KickOff.com, Pirates midfielder Isaac Chansa said the Bucs are well aware of Celtic’s prowess at home but are prepared to battle it out for the three points.

The Zambian midfielder, who has developed a knack of scoring crucial goals for Pirates, said his team will play their normal attacking game which he believes will upset the plans of Celtic coach Clinton Larsen.

“We are playing well at the moment and we have worked up a momentum which we hope to sustain until the Christmas break,” Chansa said.

“Celtic are dangerous at home and we are aware of this. A number of us have played against them at their home stadium so we are well aware of what kind of atmosphere to expect.”

“It will not be easy because they are looking to bounce back from some bad results so they will be going for victory. It will be good for the fans but we are prepared for the match.”

“We are not too concerned about injuries because we have the depth to maintain our standard.”
