(GSM) – Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo has taken a realistic view of his side’s title chances, admitting that the Scudetto has already been lost.

The Rossoneri fell to a last-gasp defeat at Sampdoria on Sunday, leaving them seven points adrift of league leaders Roma with four games remaining.

“The Scudetto is lost, we are only thinking about finishing the season well,” Pirlo said.

“Unfortunately there is nothing more to do about the title. It’s a race between Roma and Inter, a tight struggle until the end of the season.”

When asked about Milan’s future under Leonardo, Pirlo said: “It’s too soon to speak about it. I also hear the rumours about Leo, but I don’t know what will happen.”

“Our Coach will make a decision with the club. I have to think about the important games that await Milan. And after the championship there is the World Cup.”

“As for the rest, we’ll think about it later,” he concluded.
