Poland´s Murawski grateful for home comforts

Poland midfielder Rafal Murawski says playing in front of home fans has been a huge advantage for his team at Euro 2012.

Poland have played both their opening Group A games at the National Stadium in Warsaw and will host their final, must-win match of the first round against the Czech Republic in Wroclaw.

“We are used to playing in Warsaw now, we know the pitch and stadium and feel good here …but I am sure it will be good everywhere we play, Wroclaw, wherever we play, we play at home,” Murawski said.

Team-mate Marcin Kaminski said terse relations between Russia and Poland may have contributed to a more subdued atmosphere during the 1-1 draw in Warsaw on Tuesday.

“In the second match the crowd were maybe not as vocal as the match against Greece … maybe that is because of the tension between the supporters, but I am sure the support in Wroclaw will be good,” Kaminski said.

If Poland defeat the Czech Republic they will progress to the knockout stages, and coach Hubert Malowiejski refused to be drawn when asked about the makeup of his team for the crucial clash.

“It’s not certain that we will play three attackers in the team but when the team is attacking, there will be at least three players looking to get in to good attacking positions,” Malowiejski said.
