Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers praised his men as they extended their unbeaten run in the top flight to eight games away at Swansea City.
The game marked the return of Rodgers to his former club along with midfielder Joe Allen and, despite going closest with an offside goal through Jose Enrique, the Northern Irishman was pleased to take a point in a 0-0 result at the Liberty Stadium.
“It was an emotional return,” he told Sky Sports.
“It was a very good game, we played really well and created chances.
“We were unfortunate with the offside. I was really pleased with the method of our game. We had a chance at the end but didn’t quite take it.
“It was brilliant to see the people (of Swansea) before the game started. I’ll always remember my time here with good memories.
“It was always going to be a tight game. We wanted to keep our run going – I’ll never say coming here is two points dropped.”
Allen has impressed in red since arriving on Merseyside and Rodgers felt the playmaker handled his return to Wales well.
“He was playing as the controller today, the link player,” Rodgers said.
“Joe has been outstanding since he came in. I thought he played well.”
The 39-year-old has already turned his attentions to the January transfer window, though, after seeing his side draw a blank for the fourth time this season and Rodgers promised once again that there would be some movement into the club.
“You can see that once we can get that quality in to support what we already have, we have enough to keep moving forward,” he said.
“We’ll look to do some business in January. The owners trust me to grow it over time.”
Opposite number and Rodgers’ replacement at Swansea, Michael Laudrup was also pleased with a draw.
“I think it was a good point, I think we deserved that point,” he said.
“In the first half they had more chances than us but we had chances too and I am pleased with the performance.
“You know when you play against (Luis) Suarez and (Steven) Gerrard they can always invent something, but I think we handled it well.”
