Ross McCormack moves to Melbourne City

A-League side Melbourne City have agreed a loan deal for Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack.

The 31-year-old striker hasn’t made a single appearance for the Championship side this term and is moving to Australia to kick start his career.

McCormack had a fall out with Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce last season and has been struggling to get in the squad ever since. Former Fulham forward spent the second half of the 2016/17 season on loan at Nottingham where he made seven appearances and scored just one goal.

The Scottish international arrives at Melbourne City as a direct replacement for Uruguay striker Bruno Fornaroli who is ruled out with injury.

Ross McCormack joined Aston Villa for £12 million back in the summer of 2016 and has thus far made 20 Championship outings.

Aston Villa play host to Bolton at Villa Park on Sunday and can be backed at 4/11 to record a victory that could push them further up the ladder in the second tier of English football.
