Schalke and Bayern Munich reach Leon Goretzka agreement

Bayern Munich are said to be huge admirers of the 22-year-old Germany midfielder Leon Goretzka.

The Bavarians have been following the Schalke star for quite some time as they look to strengthen the domestic core of the squad with a player labelled as the next big thing in German football.

Goretzka is coming off from an impressive season with Schalke during which he made 30 Bundesliga appearances and scored 5 goals. His formidable run of form continued this summer when the 22-year-old was one of the prominent German players in this country’s run to the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup glory.

Schalke star is a versatile player who can fill in a number of positions in the midfield and the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal and AC Milan have all been casting admiring glances to the player of late.

Bayern Munich are keen to beat the opposition to the signature of the rising star and according to Abendzeitung Muenchen, the Bavarians have already reached a verbal agreement with the Gelsenkirchen club over a summer move for the 22-year-old German gem.

Details of the agreement are yet to be disclosed.
