Lazio and Napoli missed a chance to close the gap on Serie A leaders Juventus, who comfortably won their match against Fiorentina.

Hugo Campagnaro’s stunning volley in the 87th minute rescued a point for Napoli as they fought back to deny Lazio in a thrilling 1-1 draw at the Stadio Olimpico.

Having seen Juventus extend their lead at the top of Serie A to six points with their 2-0 home win over Fiorentina, the game was a must-win match for both sides as they looked to keep their respective Scudetto dreams alive.

Earlier, Juve ended a run of three domestic games without a win leaving Fiorentina in sixth position – one point out of the continental qualification spots.

Despite an open start to proceedings, Juventus soon asserted their dominance over the Florence outfit in the first-half with Mirko Vucinic (20th minute) and Alessandro Matri (42nd minute) providing the goals in what eventually proved to be a routine win.

The Serie A round continues on Sunday with Cagliari taking on AC Milan, Inter Milan hosting Chievo and Roma’s battle with Sampdoria the feature matches.
