Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone insists forward Adrian will not leave Atletico Madrid during the transfer window.

The talented forward has been linked with a Vicente Calderon exit, but the

Argentine trainer has poured cold water on the rumours.

“The arrival of new players will make us more competitive, so there is

internal competition. The major players need to stay,” Simeone told

reporters when asked about the 24-year-old’s future.

Simeone was quizzed about playmaker Diego, who spent last season on loan with

the Europa League champions, but has since returned to Wolfsburg.

“We’re always open to what might happen. We will deal with whatever

situation arises,” Simeone said.

Finally, Simeone has confirmed youngster Oliver Torres has and will be training

with the senior side following his European Under-19 Championship triumph with

Spain.

“We have to be patient with him. He is a young guy, who still has lessons

to learn. At the moment he is with us in the group,” he said.
