Competition: Scottish Championship play-off

Market: Hamilton win

Odds: 19/20 @ 1xBet

Two sides who will be desperate to pick up a first-leg advantage on Tuesday night, Alloa will welcome Hamilton to the Recreation Park.

Starting with the hosts, although Alloa might have cruised their way to a play-off spot this season with plenty of time left to spare, the Wasps do have the feel of a squad seeking some recent stability. Signing off their League One adventure with an action-packed 2-2 stalemate away at Falkirk, Andy Graham’s men claimed just a pair of victories from any of their previous eight appearances – a run that stems back to a 5-2 victory against Edinburgh City on March 16th. Knowing that they have a real job on their hands over the next week, Alloa have also shown some extended defensive issues. Despite opening April with a 5-1 romp against Sterling, Tuesday’s hosts have mustered just a sole League One clean sheet since the start of March. Tipped as an underdog contender here, Graham will also have a headache over his side’s recent struggles on home soil. In fact, Alloa have not registered a single win from any of their last four consecutive showdowns at the Recreation Park.

As for the visitors, signing off their League One campaign with a thumping performance over the weekend as they stormed their way to a 4-1 romp against the Kelty Hearts, Hamilton have certainly found top gear at a crucial time. Including a 2-1 win against Montrose on April 20th, John Rankin’s men have won all of their previous three appearances by an aggregate score of 7-2. Likewise, along with mustering 12 points from their final five third-tier showdowns, the Access have also suffered just a single defeat from any of their last 11 outings – a purple patch that stems all the way back to February 24th. It’s also worth highlighting, the midweek guests have won all of their previous five straight appearances away from New Douglas Park. Smelling the chance to claim a crucial first-leg advantage here, Hamilton will also be excited by their most revert trip to the Recreation Park. Landing a 1-0 victory when they last met Alloa on April 27th, we are expecting a similar outcome on Tuesday night.

Bet: Hamilton 19/20 to beat Alloa in Tuesday’s Championship play-off tie @ 1xBet
