With the 2018 Russia World Cup now fully underway, each team will look to move one step closer to booking their spot in the round of 16. With an action-packed month of football, we have found a number of interesting bets that can help boost your Friday World Cup acca.

Friday 22nd June

13:00 BST Brazil vs Costa Rica

Although it wasn’t the stellar start that many of us had expected from Brazil, Tite’s star-studded side still remain one of the leading candidates to be crowned World Champions. Coming off the back of a 1-1 draw with Switzerland in their opening matchup in Group E, although Neymar and co were unable to capitalize on a string on chances, the iconic Yellows will certainly fancy their chances of making a much more empathic statement on Friday afternoon. Along with Barcelona talisman Phillipe Coutinho scoring nine in nine for club and country, Switzerland’s goal against them was the first they have conceded in their last six. Up against them, with Costa Rica falling to a 1-0 defeat to Serbia in their opening matchup, The Reds have now lost their last three on the bounce and have also failed to find the net in four of their last five against The Yellows.

Tip: Brazil to win to nil @ 8/13

16:00 Nigeria vs Iceland

Well, although Heimir Hallgrímsson’s Iceland side were truly out of form before heading to Russia for their first World Cup finals, ‘Our Boys’ put in a valiant effort against Group D favorites and 2014 finalists Argentina last week. Despite Lionel Messi missing a second-half penalty that helped The Blues leave Moskva with a 1-1 draw, Iceland have shown that can be a stern test for anyone in the tournament and currently sat second, a win on Friday will leave them dreaming of the round of 16. As for their opponents, while Nigeria do have a handful of household names, Salisu Yusuf’s side drastically struggled against Croatia and their 2-0 defeat means that along with losing four of their last five, another loss will see Nigeria crash out of the tournament before their third game.

Tip: Iceland win @ 17/10

19:00 Serbia vs Switzerland

Although Serbia are coming off the back of a 1-0 win over a struggling Costa Rica side, courtesy of a stunning second-half free-kick from former Manchester City defender Aleksandar Kolarov, Mladen Krstajić’s side will face a far sterner test on Friday. With Switzerland putting in a respectable performance against Brazil and leaving with a point, The Reds are arguably one side to keep an eye on this tournament. After only losing one match in qualifying and finishing with the best defensive record in their group, Switzerland’s draw with Brazil means that they have only lost one match since June 2016 and their defensive issues have continued to catch the eye. Vladimir Petković’s men have now kept a clean sheet in five of their last seven in all competitions and we believe they will simply possess to much for Serbia on Friday evening.

Tip: Switzerland win and under 2.5 goals @ 15/4
