6th February: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 11/1

With this weekend’s action opening up on Saturday afternoon, we have another stacked schedule from across Europe on the cards. So, for those of you looking to stick on a weekend acca, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Saturday 6th February

BST 14:30 Augsburg vs Wolfsburg

Starting with Saturday’s guests, continuing on their DFP Pokal adventure earlier in the week thanks to what was a deserved 1-0 win away at a struggling Schalke, Wolfsburg have continued to impress many across Germany this season. Opening up the weekend sat as high as third in the table, it is no secret that the Greens have a Champions League return at the top of their agenda. While Die Wölfe might have marked their return from the festive break with a 2-0 loss against Borussia Dortmund, they have bounced back in a hugely impressive fashion. Along with landing that victory away at the Veltins-Arena in midweek, Head Coach Oliver Glasner finds his side enjoying a four-match winning run across all formats. Last seen on Bundesliga duties picking up a thumping 3-0 win at home against Freiburg, Glasner will undoubtedly be excited by his side’s continued performances at the back. Along with leading marksman Wout Weghorst bagging himself 13 goals this season, Wolfsburg should be smelling a golden chance this weekend. Making an immediate return to losing ways last time out with a 3-1 drumming against BVB, Augsburg have found themselves freefalling down the Bundesliga table. Losing four of their last five top-flight contests, it should also be highlighted that Saturday’s hosts were hit with a 2-1 loss the last time they welcomed Wolfsburg to the WWK Arena.

Tip: Wolfsburg win @ 4/5

15:00 Millwall vs Sheffield Wednesday

While Sheffield Wednesday might still find themselves in the midst of a relegation scrap following their points deduction last summer, there is no doubt the Owls are enjoying a real resurge. Now sat just three points adrift of finding a route out of the drop zone, caretaker boss Neil Thompson has done a stellar job since taking charge at Hillsborough. Shocking many across the Championship earlier in the week, Wednesday picked up a hugely impressive 2-1 victory away at early-season title contenders Bournemouth. Undoubtedly enjoying their brightest run of the season so far and smelling the chance to cause another upset on the road this weekend, Saturday’s guests have landed back-to-back Championship wins. More impressive, Thompson’s men have managed to collect themselves an eye-catching 12 points from just their last five second-tier contests. Losing just a pair of their last nine matchups across all formats, a run that stems back to the middle of December, Wednesday should be looking to cash in on the hometown strugglers. While Millwall might have managed to snatch a point against league leaders Norwich in midweek, the Lions are in the midst of a recent blip. Failing to win any of their last four straight matchups, a run highlighted by a 3-0 drumming at home against Bristol City in the FA Cup last month, it should also be noted the South London outfit have not won at the Den since October 20th.

Tip: Sheffield Wednesday draw no bet @ 7/4

17:30 Fulham vs West Ham

Starting with Saturday’s guests, while West Ham would have been disappointed by their performance against Liverpool last weekend, the Hammers certainly bounced back in impressive fashion. Making the trip to Villa Park on Wednesday night, David Moyes’ high-flyers landed a deserved 3-1 romp on the road and the mood in their camp should be at a red-hot high. While the East London outfit might have only just hung onto their Premier League status over the summer, the former Manchester United boss has seen his side transform into a genuine European contender. Still sat just two points adrift of breaking into the Champions League spots, West Ham have really impressed since opening the New Year. Watching loanee Jesse Lingard mark his debut with a brace against Aston Villa in midweek, this weekend’s guests have won seven of their eight contests since opening 2021. With the chance to break into the top-four at Craven Cottage on Saturday evening, it should also be noted that Moyes’ men have won each of their last three Premier League matchups on the road, their best run since 2018. On the flip side, while the Hammers might be flying high, Fulham find their deficit to top-flight safety only increasing by the week. Suffering a deserved 2-0 defeat at home against Leicester in midweek, Scott Parker’s side have failed to record a single Premier League win since the end of November. Along with crashing out of the FA Cup thanks to a 3-0 drumming against Burnley last month, it should also be highlighted that Fulham are in the midst of a four-match losing run at Craven Cottage.
