The agent of Benfica midfielder Javi Garcia says that a number of top European clubs have shown interest in his client’s services.
The 25-year-old has grown into a key player for the Eagles following his move from Real Madrid and his solid midfield showings have attracted admiring glances from major European clubs.
Despite the growing interest, the player’s agent claims that Benfica have yet to receive a formal offer for the Spaniard.
“There are not, and there have never been, any concrete offers,” Manuel Garcia Quilon told O JOGO.
However, the agent claims a host of foreign clubs are closely monitoring the player’s showings.
“But I can tell you that there are several clubs following him very carefully, especially Premier League clubs. Then there is also one Bundesliga and one Serie A club.”
Quilon believes that Benfica would not be able to resist a big money offer in the summer.
“Nothing has been discussed with president Luis Filipe Vieira, but if a good offer for the club and Javi arrives at the end of the season, we will analyse it and then we will see.”
Javi Garcia has a contract until June 2014 at La Luz, with his release clause currently standing at €30 million.
The 25-year-old featured in 13 league games this season, and managed to score one goal in the process.
