Agent confirms Juventus, Napoli interest in Vrsaljko

Italian big guns Juventus and Napoli are both keen on Atletico Madrid defender Sime Vrsaljko, according to the player’s official representative.

The Croatian footballer has been on the radar of Italy’s top clubs during his time with Sassuolo, and he has remained in the crosshairs of the Serie A title rivals.

Persuading Atletico Madrid to sell their prized asset will be no easy task, but Vrsaljko’s agent has suggested Italy and England are attractive for his client.

“Right-back is the most sought-after role in the world,” Giuseppe Riso told Radio Crc.

“Napoli and Juve are looking for right-backs, but that’s the case pretty much everywhere in Europe and that’s why he didn’t leave in January.

“Sime loves Italy, but the Premier League is fascinating for everyone. I don’t know if Atletico will sell him though, they’d have to find a replacement and that’s not easy.”

The 26-year-old did well to climb in front of Spain international Juanfran in the pecking order at Wanda Metropolitano, making 17 La Liga appearances this season.

Capable of operating on the left-hand side as well, Vrsaljko will be an important member of the Croatia squad at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
