UAE club Al Ahli have dismissed rumours claiming French outfit Monaco have made a bid for their 20-year-old striker Ahmed Khalil.

French website RMC Sport reported the Ligue 2 club were keen on the UAE international, who was voted Asian Young Footballer of the Year in 2008.

But an Al Ahli spokesperson told The National there had been no move made by Monaco.

“We have not heard from any club as yet, and these are just rumours,” he said.

According to the report, Monaco were also interested in Ajman’s Senegalese forward Ibrahima Toure.

Meanwhile, Al Ahli boss Quique Sanchez Flores denied the club is on the verge of a six-month loan deal for Cameroon international Achille Emana.

Emana appeared certain to leave Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal and it had been reported he would arrive in Dubai this week for a medical.

But Sanchez Flores, who has confirmed he needs another foreign player after Brazilian striker Jaja walked out on the club last month, said they had not made an approach.
