Allegri set to extend Milan deal

AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri expects to sign a new contract with the club that will keep him at San Siro until 2014.

The 44-year-old’s current deal is set to expire at the end of the season, but the former Cagliari coach insists that he has no intention of walking away from the Rossoneri and that he has already agreed an extension with vice-president Adriano Galliani and owner Silvio Berlusconi.

“Galliani has said that I will stay until 2014 and I explained to both him and the president (Berlusconi) that it is my ambition to remain here,” Allegri told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“On my part, there is no problem and it has never seemed to me that the situation could be any different.”

“We just have to wait a while so that he can talk and define everything. It’s true that (you don’t know) until the contract is signed … but there is no problem.”

Allegri established himself as one of the brightest young coaches in Serie A during a two-year spell with Cagliari before last summer switching to Milan, with whom he won the Scudetto in his first season at the helm.
