AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri is calling on his players to put last weekend’s controversial clash with Juventus out of their minds.

The debate over Sully Muntari’s ‘ghost goal’ in the 1-1 draw at San Siro is still raging but the Rossoneri boss is desperate for his troops to put the incident firmly behind them as they prepare for a pivotal Serie A clash with Palermo on Saturday.

“The team played a great match against Juventus in which things happened that rarely occur in a game of football,” Allegri said.

“But the team has definitely come out all the stronger after the clashes with Arsenal and Juventus.”

“Now we must focus on tomorrow and not think about last Saturday anymore because you cannot change the result.”

Allegri feels that Milan need to concentrate all of their energy on bringing an end to their poor recent record at the Renzo Barbera.

“Milan have not won in Palermo for six years,” he said.

“This is one of the decisive games of the season. They have changed many players, but their mentality is always the same at home.”

“They are also a team that has speed and technique. In midfield they are an organised unit.”

“Everyone knows the importance of the match: we must have a good game and try to pick up three points.”

“There are still many games left, but during the tournament there are games that are more decisive than others and I think that this match has a major significance in the league.”

“To remain at the top of the table would be very important.”

Milan currently have a one-point lead over Juve in the Serie A standings but the Bianconeri have a game in hand.
