May 4th: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 7/1

As the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City steal centre stage throughout Saturday afternoon, we have a stacked European schedule on the cards.

With a full fixture list from the likes of La Liga and Bundesliga, there are plenty of intriguing betting markets that are available.

Ahead of a heavyweight Saturday schedule, we have found a trio of betting markets that are worth keeping an eye out for this weekend.

Saturday, May 4th

BST 14:30 Werder Bremen vs Borussia Monchengladbach

Although Werder Bremen might have opened the New Year looking over their shoulder at a looming relegation scrap, the River Islanders have skyrocketed themselves away from the drop zone. Last seen putting in a stunning performance as they stormed their way to a 3-0 romp away at Augsburg, Saturday’s hosts have collected back-to-back Bundesliga wins for the first time over the past couple of months. Making a major statement on April 21st as they secured a 2-1 victory against Champions League outfit Stuttgart, Ole Werner’s men now have their sights firmly set on securing a top-half finish. Opening this weekend’s fixtures with just their goal difference keeping them outside the top-10, Bremen should be smelling a real opportunity when they return to the Weserstadion here. On the flip side, continuing on what has been a major Bundesliga struggle this season, Borussia Monchengladbach do have the feel of a squad limping their way over the finishing line. With some in the Foals’ camp still waiting to officially punch their top-flight status for another year, Saturday’s guests have recorded just a single victory from any of their previous nine appearances across all competitions. Crashing out of the DFP Pokal on March 12th following an infamous 2-1 loss against third-tier outfit Saaabrucken, the former Bayer Leverkusen boss has also seen his squad muster just a single away victory since the end of September. Likewise, hit with a 5-1 drumming when they last travelled to Bremen back in October 2022, we are predicting a home win here.

Tip: Werder Bremen win @ 13/10

15:00 Sheffield United vs Nottingham Forest

Although Nottingham Forest might have opened April with a crucial 3-1 romp at home against Fulham, Nottingham Forest find themselves at the heart of a real relegation scrap. Hit with a points deduction back in March and dealing with a string of public financial issues behind the scenes at the City Ground, Nuno Espírito Santo’s men face what is a season-defining showdown on Saturday afternoon. Last seen suffering a 2-0 defeat at home against defending champions Manchester City, the former Wolves boss has seen his side muster just a single Premier League victory from any of their last 10 appearances – a rut that stems all the way back to February 17th. Opening their trip to Sheffield holding just a one-point buffer from slipping into the drop zone, Santo’s side have remarkably recorded just a sole top-flight clean sheet since the start of November. Suffering a major collapse away at St. James’ Park last weekend as they eventually fell to a 5-1 drumming against Newcastle, that result was enough to officially confirm Sheffield United’s immediate Championship return. Coming under a huge amount of scrutiny this season and losing all of their previous four straight Premier League appearances by an aggregate score of 15-4, Chris Wilder’s squad have also gained a reputation for their glaring defensive issues. Including a 4-1 defeat against Burnley last month, it should be noted that Saturday’s hosts have shipped a staggering 35 goals in just their previous nine showdowns at Bramall Lane.

Tip: Goal to be score in both halves @ 4/6

15:15 Real Madrid vs Cadiz

Although Real Madrid might have eventually finished 10 points of defending their La Liga crown last season, Los Blancos have embarked on another history-making run this time around. Opening their Champions League semi-final adventure with a 2-2 stalemate away at German giants Bayern Munich in midweek, Carlo Ancelotti’s men have their sights set on a double-winning campaign over the next month. Opening this weekend’s fixtures holding a commanding 11-point buffer over the chasing pack and appearing to breeze their way to another domestic title, the former AC Milan boss has seen his superstar squad suffer just a single defeat across any competition since opening the New Year. Winning all of their previous six La Liga showdown on the bounce by an aggregate score of 15-4. Smelling the chance to make another statement this weekend, attacking talisman Vinicius Junior should play a leading role on Saturday afternoon. Bagging a Champions League brace away at Bayern Munich earlier in the week, the Brazilian international has recorded 21 goals across all competitions so far this season. Opening this weekend’s fixtures sat five points adrift of safety, Cadiz are seeking a real miracle in their bid to avoid the drop. Enduring what has been an extended La Liga struggle this year, the Yellow Submarine have registered just a quartet of domestic victories. Likewise, last seen on their travels slumping to a routine 4-1 drumming at the hands of Girona, Mauricio Pellegrino’s side have failed to claim a single win outfit Andalusia.

Tip: Vinicius Junior to score anytime @ 13/10
