April 11th: Thursday’s Europa League Double – 3/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

With the Europa League quarter-finals getting underway on Thursday night, a host of European heavyweights will still centre stage.

As the likes of Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen look to claim a first-leg advantage, AC Milan and Roma will meet for an all-Italian showdown.

Ahead of what looks set to be an action-packed night of Europa League action, we have found a pair of the most intriguing betting markets.

20:00 Liverpool vs Atalanta

Coming under plenty of scrutiny last season as they missed out on booking a top-four finish, Liverpool have certainly come roaring back this time around. In the midst of what has been a stellar run and firing on all cylinders, the Premier League heavyweights still have the chance to complete a treble-winning campaign.

At the heart of a Premier League title chase, Liverpool are desperate to sign off Jurgen Klopp’s famous nine-year stint at Anfield with a trophy sweep.

Although the Reds might have eventually been forced to settle for a 2-2 stalemate against historic rivals Manchester United last weekend, Thursday’s hosts have also lost just one of their previous 12 appearances across all competitions.

Extending on their Europa League adventure last month thanks to a thrilling 11-2 aggregate romp against Sparta Prague, the former Borussia Dortmund boss will be smelling a golden opportunity over the next fortnight.

It should also be highlighted, Liverpool have won their last three showdowns at Anfield by an aggregate score of 11-3.

While Atalanta might have come flying out of the traps when opening up the New Year, La Dea have largely struggled with their consistency over recent times.

Failing to collect any kind of momentum over the weekend as they suffered a shock 2-1 defeat at the hands of Cagliari, Thursday’s guests have won just a pair of their last nine appearances across all competitions.

Losing back-to-back domestic showdowns outside of Bergamo since returning from March’s international break, Gian Piero Gasperini’s men have also continued to show some glaring issues on the road.

Along with winning just one of their previous seven showdowns away from the Gewiss Stadium, Atalanta have also recorded just a single away clean sheet since December 14th.

20:00 Bayer Leverkusen vs West Ham

Only continuing on what has been a stunning fairytale this season, Bayer Leverkusen are set to make real history in 2024. Set to claim a maiden Bundesliga crown and in the midst of what has been a famous purple patch, Xabi Alonso’s men are also pencilled in as a leading Europa League contender.

Cementing their spot as Europe’s ultimate surprise package this season, the German high-flyers have remarkably not suffered a single defeat across any competition.

Riding what has been an iconic wave of momentum and with Alonso announcing last week that he will be staying at Leverkusen next season, Thursday’s hosts will be looking to make another heavyweight statement.

Holding a 16-point buffer at the top of the Bundesliga table, Alonso’s men have also continued to gain a fearsome reputation for their success on home soil.

In fact, Leverkusen have won all of their previous seven showdowns in front of their own supporters by an aggregate score of 19-6.

Managing to make what was a dramatic return to winning ways last weekend as they snatched a controversial 2-1 victory away at Wolves, West Ham must use that late flurry as a platform to build on.

However, although the Hammers might have extended on their Europa League adventure last month as they secured a 5-1 aggregate romp against German outfit Freiburg, David Moyes has found continued speculation over his future at the London Stadium.

Marking their return from March’s international break with an infamous collapse away at Newcastle as they eventually fell to a 4-3 defeat at St. James’ Park, West Ham have also shown some extended defensive struggles.

Not recording a single clean sheet outside of east London since opening the New Year, Moyes’ men couldn’t have asked for a tougher challenge here.
