Italian midfielder Alberto Aquilani is close to making his debut for Liverpool. The 25-year-old is recovering well from his ankle injury that kept him sidelined since August.
A surgery was necessary after Aquilani picked up a serious ankle injury this summer. Since he`s recovering well, the former Roma player is expected to return to the squad within a couple of weeks.
Liverpool`s biggest signing of this summer (Aquilani joined the Reds from Roma for € 22,5 million) may be able to be part of the squad for the Champions League match against Lyon on October 20.
However, a return to the squad for the Carling Cup match against Arsenal on October 28 is more likely.
