Arsenal return for William Carvalho; Milan eyeing PSV star duo

hot-transfer-newsArsenal return for William Carvalho

Premier League giants Arsenal will rekindle their interest in Sporting Lisbon starlet William Carvalho, according to ESPN.

Speaking at the club’s Annual General Meeting, Arsene Wenger admitted that he had failed to recruit one of his targets in the summer and that he would attempt to make things right in January.

And ESPN has suggested that Willliam Carvalho was one of the players who was supposed to move to the Emirates, with the Gunners now planning a fresh assault.

While signing a quality centre-back remains a priority in the January window, the Professor is also looking to add another defensive midfielder and the Portugal international appears to be the first name on his hit-list.

Carvalho is unlikely to come on the cheap though seeing as how he has a £37 million release clause in his contract and Sporting are not ready to negotiate the asking price.

The 22-year-old exploded onto the big stage last season and he has already nailed down a regular starting berth in the national team as well.

Milan eyeing PSV star duo

AC Milan are showing interest in PSV Eindhoven stars Adam Maher and Jetro Willems, Tuttosport can reveal.

The Rossoneri officials are set to hold a new meeting to discuss January targets and the Eredivisie duo will be considered as well.

Due to the serious financial constraints, Milan were forced to turn their attention to cheaper targets and the Netherlands internationals appear to be within their price range.

Adam Maher, 21, is widely regarded as one of country’s most talented midfielders and he has largely impressed since joining PSV Eindhoven from AZ Alkmaar.

Meanwhile, left-back Jetro Willems has returned to the starting line-up after starting the season on the bench and the 20-year-old is seen as a perfect long-term solution for the left side of defence at San Siro.

At the same time, Milan are weighing up moves for Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira and Boca Juniors defender Lisandro Magallan.

Barca starlet set for pay rise

Barcelona forward Munir El Haddadi will see his salary significantly increased, Al Primer Toc, a program on Spanish TV RAC1 has suggested.

The 19-year-old has been in scintillating form since he was promoted to first team set-up this summer, starting no less than five of first seven league fixtures.

And with Europe’s top sides showing interest in his services, the Catalans have decided to act and improve his current contract.

Munir will not be signing a new deal at Camp Nou, but rather his current contract will be improved having become a professional player, with his release clause set to increase to €35 million.

The youngster will remain tied to the club until June 2017, although it shouldn’t be long before he is offered a contract extension as well.

Having created a four-point advantage over arch rivals Real Madrid, Barcelona can be backed at 5/6 to win the La Liga trophy.
