Leandro Trossard was already considered a backup option at Arsenal last season, though his input became extremely valuable as injuries struck Mikel Arteta’s attacking department severely. The Gunners have since added Eberechi Eze to their ranks, and Trossard’s future at the club became very uncertain.
The transfer window is closed in most European leagues, but in Turkey there’s still a few days left (until September 11th), and Besiktas have recently been credited with interest in the Belgian winger. However, according to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal have no plans to let him leave, as they value squad depth as an important aspect in their quest for trophies in 2025/26.
The 30-year-old has two years left on his current contract – the original one he signed when he joined from Brighton in 2023 – but he has already reached an agreement with the club over a new deal that should be signed very soon.
Trossard has 28 goals and 23 assists in 125 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions, though he only played once this season – a 37-minute cameo in the 5-0 thrashing of Leeds in the Premier League.
