Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is beginning to show more interest in Aston VillaÂ’s midfielder Gareth Barry.

Barry who played for England against the Czech Republic on Wednesday night had been involved in a tug – o – war during the off – season between his club Aston Villa and Liverpool.

Liverpool have since turned their attention elsewhere as they found VillaÂ’s asking price too high.

Yesterday (Thursday) the Arsenal boss confirmed his interest in Barry.

However he too may find him too costly to bring to Arsenal, especially seeing that his age means that his resale value could be far lower than his purchase price.

I am sure that Arsene is more interested in Barry the Alonso, he hence does not want to bid for Alonso as that will help fuel a move for Barry to Anfield, so our good pal Arsene is willing to wait for one of the following two things. First Barry demands to be let go, realises the extent to how unhappy he is, and Arsenal can compete for about 14 million. Second of all is that Liverpool fork out the cash for Barry and then we pick up Alonso on the cheap for about 10. He is obviously not interested in Inler anymore but I wouldn’t be suprised if we sign a “flamini” type figure from a french team or even pull another rugid gem from Africa, im thinking the Ghana region…
