August 20th: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 6/1

With the Premier League and La Liga taking center stage this weekend, we have a stacked schedule on our hands. So, for those of you looking to stick on a Saturday acca, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Saturday August 20th

BST 12:30 Tottenham vs Wolves

Managing to mount a thrilling last-gasp comeback away at bitter rivals Chelsea last weekend, Tottenham have continued to gain a host of plaudits from across the Premier League. Eventually leaving Stamford Bridge with a 2-2 draw, Antonio Conte’s men should find the mood in their camp at a real high. Opening the 2022/23 campaign with a 4-1 romp against Southampton on home soil, the Lilywhites also have a Champions League adventure on the horizon. Signing off last season by storming their way to three top-flight victories on the spin, Spurs will be looking to lay down another marker on Saturday lunchtime. It should also be noted, on a run that stems back to February 13th, Tottenham have won seven of their last eight Premier League matchups in north London. With England skipper Harry Kane opening his account last weekend, Conte will be looking to cash in on a Wolves side who have shown some extended issues. Marking their return to action on August 6th by throwing away the lead and getting hit with a 2-1 loss away at Leeds, Bruno Lage’s men could also only limp their way to a hard-fought 0-0 stalemate at home against Fulham last weekend. Failing to win any of their last seven Premier League matchups last season, the ex-Benfica boss will know that his side face a huge task in the capital on Saturday.

Tip: Tottenham win & Under 4.5 goals @ 4/5

16:30 Osasuna vs Cadiz

Managing to shock almost everyone across Spain last season as they pinched a top-half finish, Osasuna appear to have carried on from where they left off in May. Enjoying a summer purple patch as they signed off their pre-season preparations with three consecutive victories, Los Rojillos also put in a stunning display last weekend. Despite facing what was a huge task when they welcomed Sevilla to the El Sadar for their La Liga opener seven days ago, Jagoba Arrasate’s men picked up a stellar 2-1 win. Looking to open the 2022/23 campaign with back-to-back victories on Saturday afternoon, the hosts should also be boosted by a rather rampant record against Cadiz. Claiming a deserved 2-0 win when they welcomed the Pirates to Navarre back on January 9th, Osasuna have won each of their last four straight meetings against this weekend’s guests. Likewise, last seen putting in a toothless display on home soil as they were hit with a 1-0 loss against Real Sociedad, Sergio González’s are tipped to be at the heart of a relegation scrap this season. Signing off their pre-season run with three friendly defeats on the spin, the Andalusia-based outfit should be in for a tough test here. Never recording a single victory at the El Sadar from their nine attempts, we’re backing a home victory on Saturday afternoon.

Tip: Osasuna win @ 1/1

21:00 Celta Vigo vs Real Madrid

Enjoying what was a famous campaign in the Spanish capital last season, Real Madrid simply have their sights set on making more history this time around. Eventually lifting both the Champions League and La Liga titles, Carlo Ancelotti has only continued to impress since arriving back at the Bernabéu last summer. Spearheaded by attacking talisman Karim Benzema who racked up 27 domestic strikes last season, Los Blancos also opened the 2022/23 campaign with three points on the road. Eventually claiming a 2-1 victory away at top-flight returners Almeria, the one-time AC Milan boss has been filled with praise for his side’s temperament this summer. Putting in a routine display as they claimed this year’s Super Cup thanks to a 2-0 victory against Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt on August 10th, Ancelotti will be calling on his side to keep up that momentum here. On the flip side, having to settle for a bottom-half finish last season after winning just a pair of their final six La Liga matchups, Celta Vigo have continued on a downbeat summer run. Along with having to settle for a lively 2-2 draw at home against Espanyol in their season-opener last week, the Sky Blues also hold a dreadful record against the defending champions. Including a 2-1 loss when they last faced off against Los Blancos on April 2nd, Eduardo Coudet’s men have lost each of their last four meetings against Madrid.

Tip: Real Madrid win & Over 1.5 goals @ 1/1
