(GSM) – Germany’s injured captain Michael Ballack has announced that he will soon make a decision over his future. The midfielder is free to negotiate a contract with any club after not being offered a new contract by Chelsea at the end of last season.

Ballack joined Chelsea after impressing at Bayer Leverkusen and after four years of service at Stamford Bridge, reports suggest the 33-year-old could move back to Germany to play at a Bundesliga club.

Hamburg, Wolfsburg and his former club Bayer Leverkusen are all after Ballack’s signature.

“I am able to confirm that I am going to make up my mind quickly,” the 33-year-old told Bild.

“There will be a decision on my future in the next two weeks.”

Leverkusen general manager Rudi Voller said it would be “great news” for the club if Ballack returns.

“It would be great news to see Michael returning to our club,” stated Voller.

“(Manager) Jupp Heynckes would be extremely happy to see Michael coming back to us.”
