Barcelona linked with re-signing Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang wants to leave Chelsea in the January transfer window, with Barcelona interested in bringing the former Arsenal striker back to Camp Nou, according to Mundo Deportivo. The report in the Spanish publication has claimed that Barcelona head coach Xavi wants to bring back the striker should Memphis Depay leave in the middle of the season.

Aubameyang himself wants to leave Chelsea in January. The former Arsenal striker is struggling for playing time at the Blues under new head coach Graham Potter. When Aubameyang joined Chelsea, Thomas Tuchel was in charge of the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners. The striker worked with Tuchel at Borussia Dortmund. The German coach was sacked just days later.

However, Barcelona will be unable to sign Aubameyang in January because they would not be able to register them for the second time this season. The former La Liga champions sold the striker to Chelsea in September 2022.
