Joey Barton said QPR are unlikely to win the appeal against his red card in the 2-1 defeat to Norwich.

Barton received a straight red card for violent conduct in Monday’s match after the former Manchester City man appeared to headbutt opposing midfielder Bradley Johnson.

Since the incident, Barton has been adamant the former Leeds United man made the most of it, claiming the officials were ‘conned.’

On Tuesday, QPR announced they would appeal Barton’s dismissal, believing he was the victim of over-reacting on Johnson’s part.

However, the midfielder is not expecting much, citing the FA’s rejection of Nenad Milijas’ appeal as the reason.

Speaking on his official twitter account, Barton said: “Club have appealed, not holding my breath after the Milijas debacle.”

Barton also went on to re-affirm his belief that technology is needed in football with officials often struggling, while he also slammed those who do not think technology has a place in the sport.

“Its only archaic dinosaurs who don’t like change that don’t agree with technology,” he said.

“Right that’s it, my 2nd Big Issue column is going to be technology in sport debate.”

“Pro’s and con’s, where its be productive and where its been destructive. Off to the think tank. Adios amigos.”
