Bayern set to sign Xherdan Shaqiri; Agent to deliver Milan a new striker

Bayern set to sign Xherdan Shaqiri

Bayern are closing in on Basel midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri, German newspaper Kicker reports.

The promising midfielder is looking to leave Basel for a bigger club and he was widely tipped to leave Switzerland in January.

The player ultimately remained at St Jacob Park after his proposed move to Galatasaray fell through.

However, Kicker now claims that the Swiss international is set to agree a switch to Bayern Munich, for a reported fee of £10 million.

The Bavarians were hoping to sign Marco Reus from Borussia M’gladbach, but turned their attention to Shaqiri after the Germany international agreed to join Borussia Dortmund.

Shaqiri’s representative recently revealed that a move to Alianz Arena would be perfect for his client.

The 20-year-old midfielder is enjoying a good season with Basel, and he scored 4 goals in 19 league games.

Agent to deliver Milan a new striker

Agent Mino Raiola claims that he will hand Milan a new striker for the next season after failing to do so in January.

The Rossoneri were looking to sign a new forward after Antonio Cassano was ruled out for the season, but they haven’t had a lot of success in their quest.

Milan tried everything to sign Carlos Tevez, but eventually opted for Maxi Lopez after they were unable to reach an agreement with Manchester City.

Football agent Mino Raiola failed to find the Rossoneri a world-class forward in January, but now claims that he will make things right in the summer.

“I didn’t have a strong forward for Milan in the winter window, but I will have one to offer Milan in June,” Raiola said to Qui Studio a Voi Stadio program on Telelombardia.

Given that Raiola represents Mario Balotelli, among other players, the statement is set to add fuel to speculations that the Manchester City forward could join Milan at the end of the season.

Balotelli is a Milan supporter and the Rossoneri have confirmed that they were interested in signing the talented forward.

Juventus stepping up interest in Destro

Juventus are set to launch a new assault on Siena forward Mattia Destro, according to Tuttosport.

The Bianconeri boss Antonio Conte is not entirely satisfied with his option in attack and he plans to sign a new centre forward in the summer.

Tuttosport claims that the talented coach has set his sights on Siena’s Matti Destro, the player who came through the youth ranks at Inter.

Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta recently opened talks with Genoa chiefs and he is expected to reach an agreement for the purchase of the promising forward before the season ends.

The 20-year-old spent last season on loan to Genoa, after which he signed a permanent deal with the Rossoblu.

Destro was immediately farmed out on loan to Siena, where he scored 5 goals in 14 Serie A games, thus attracting interest of big Italian clubs.

The player also proved his potential on international stage, bagging 5 goals in 12 games for Italy Under-21 side.
